Abstract

This is an assignment for students in a Historical Research Methods course to integrate their non-English language skills with their historical work.

Description

This is an assignment sheet handed out to students directing them how to carry out the non-English article review. This assignent is written for an undergraduate class in history but can be adapted to any level research course.

Students will look for and read either a newspaper or journal article pertaining to their chosen research topic in a history course. They must then write a review of the article focusing on how its thesis and use of evidence demonstrates different cultural values from the United States.
