Making associations
We often make associations by meaning, such as through opposites like “wide” and “narrow” or “happy” and “sad.” These kinds of links help us remember both words in a pair. Another way for remembering a given form is by associating it with what was going on at the moment of learning or studying it. Megan and Nicole reported linking grammar concepts to the following:

- clothing
- the ambiance
- classmates they studied with
