Wikis for Collaboration

This video from CommonCraft is a good introduction to wikis and how they can be used for collaboration.

Why a wiki and not a blog?
The purposes, author, navigation, and records of history (changes) are different for each.

Comparison of Wiki to Blog
Wiki Blog
created for collaboration - group editing usually a series of posts written by one person,
although class blogs do exist
wiki creator can create the navigation which stays the same over time most recent post is at the top, ordered by date
usually archived monthly
readers can be permitted to comment on a page readers can be permitted to comment on a post
history of each page shows who wrote/added/edited what when history of edits may be available to the creater, not to others
